A supply chain consultant’s main duty is to work clients through the process of examining their supply chain issues through tactical planning, procedure re-organization and implementation of new technologies when necessary. This individual helps their clients to develop the necessary tools, methods, and knowledge to develop their customer base, build a competitive advantage in the industry and grow their client’s profit margins.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying clients’ problems, prospects, and dangers
  • Conducting interviews with clients’ employees during client visits
  • Developing strategies to solve client issues and reporting these findings to the client
  • Working alongside client to effectively implement solutions
