U.S. Logistics Operations Manager (Meat & Produce):
The U.S. Logistics Operations Manager (Meat & Produce) will be responsible for leading the US logistics operations, running day-to-day logistics with a focus on leading and executing end-to-end transportation and logistics operations. Responsibilities include analysis, evaluation, and traffic administration of all the trucking units in the USA as well as cold storage for shipments while they are within the US. The role ensures compliance with shipping and delivery schedules that meet vendors and customer’s requirements and requires cross-functional collaboration with sales and purchasing to provide visibility into all logistics aspects and cold storage capacity. This person would be based in Miami with ~30%+ travel in the US, Mexico and LATAM. The position will report to the Logistics Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Freight and cold storage negotiation and Scheduling.
  • Load Pick up and verification.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with sales, back office, broker and logistic companies.
  • Cold storage management.
  • Inventory management.
  • Implement YoY improvements in US Operations.
  • Develop and maintain KPI.
  • Coordinate with direct reports responsible for US logistics operations.
  • Talent Management and optimization of team and resources.
  • Create, develop and manage vendor minimum requirements/standards.
  • Maintain Inventory and logistics management systems and reports up to date and stay close to the commercial team Measures of Success.

Experience:

  • Ability to manage the US operations within the logistics organization.
  • 5-10+ years of prior experience in the field.
  • Bachelor’s degree is REQUIRED.
  • Highly organized and hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Enforce procedures proactively and resiliently in a fast-paced industry.
  • Demonstrate excellent planning skills.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with key brokers, cold storage and transportation vendors at a tactical level.
  • Be dynamic and willing to travel to build/maintain vendor relationships.
  • Seek to grow and mentor direct reports within the business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively across cultures.
  • Familiarity with and/or hands-on analytical experience in SAP, Power BI, etc. a plus
