Senior Manager / Director of Business Development
The Senior Manager / Director of Business Development is responsible for leading the entire Business Development team to achieve yearly revenue goals. The position will ensure the teams weekly and monthly goals are being met and will assist in developing strategies and implementing new metrics to achieve yearly goals as needed. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for their own book of business, however their priority is leading the Business Development team and reporting data and metrics up to the VP of Business Development.

Responsibilities:
  • Business Management: Maintain daily reports sent from DOMO that report OB Phone calls, Daily Load Count, Daily Revenue #s and Daily new customer acquisition.
  • Business Development: Maintain and build relationships with no less than 15 new business opportunities on a continuous basis and manage the pipeline to get the desired results.
  • Book of Business: Cultivate new business and pass off to BDM’s that report up to you. Maintain relationships with new prospects and customers. Responsible for overseeing all team members $1.2M per annualized Revenue goal obtainment.
  • Operational Excellence: Execute at an elevated level ensuring all measurable service requirements by account and carrier are achieved.
  • Routinely identify and qualify new business opportunities to position the company’s Enterprise and execute their service offering.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, cold calls, and referrals by building a portfolio of customers in geographic areas outside of current customer base.
  • Utilize ZoomInfo to source, identify prospects, develop customer opportunities, and log ongoing communication.
  • Maintain current company, contact, and opportunity info in Salesforce.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to ensure new business can be onboarded at a high-level.
  • Manage team members to achieve desired results related to revenue goals.
  • Solicit and find carriers to operate the business that is sold.
  • Conduct ongoing follow up to develop greater value, communicate new opportunities, and build professional relationships.
  • Oversee all positions in Business Development to ensure they are meeting customer needs.
  • Ensure routine review of performance scorecards with customers.
  • Work with Operations teams to understand network capabilities and needs.
  • Meet or exceed goals for sales revenue and gross margin on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Report data and metrics to VP.
  • Lead Sr. Manager and Manager of Business Development in growth and development of Account Managers.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required.
  • 5+ years in transportation/logistics/supply chain management required.
  • 5+ years experience in management or a leadership role required.
  • Proficiency in Tech Systems – Office, Outlook, TMS, etc.
  • Effective Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Business Management Skills – Detail Oriented, Organized, Time Management.
  • High Level of Initiative, Competitive, Action Oriented, Problem Solver.
  • Fast-paced and able to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
