Manager, Dedicated Truck and Yard Operations
The Manager, Dedicated Truck and Yard Operations position will manage dedicated truck carriers & shipments for inbound and outbound operations to ensure our client is maximizing dedicated truck program while aligning with their standards and expectations. Additional core duties include managing Yard operation, as well as be available to support Inbound and/or Outbound operation when operational support is needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Dedicated Truck Operations/Reposition Load Out Coordination
  • Develop & implement policies/SOPs to ensure efficient carrier utilization.
  • Plan pre-determined routes & carrier capacity utilization
  • Manage all aspects of the dispatching process, including carrier KPI management, training, scheduling, monitoring performance, and responding to customer complaints.
  • Coordinate revolving (i.e. flatbed) with carrier and Inbound operation
  • Monitor communication with all related parties to ensure timely transportation movements.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly/monthly workload to each responsible carrier.
  • Maintain proper records (TMS) to track & trace movement data (document productivity & ensure timely POD collection and invoicing.
  • Manage carriers to minimize in-transit damages and reduce usage of more expensive carriers.
  • Regular review of dedicated carrier P&L (audit) to ensure healthy and efficient operation is carried out properly.
  • Analyze and identify opportunities to save freight costs in the supply chain process Yard Operations
  • Ensure the yard is operating under CTPAT guidelines.
  • Utilize YMS system to accurately manage inventory movements.
  • Responsible for planning & supervising all yard operations.
  • Generate accurate yard inventory on a periodic basis (daily/weekly)
  • Manage yard operation cost & support set up new yard(s) when needed.
  • Be available to Inbound operations and/or Outbound operations to provide operational support when needed.
  • Inbound/Outbound duties may include scheduling shipments, and/or dispatching equipment for load-out or DWA.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to continually improve department performance.
  • Function as a utility player to be able to take on additional projects related to MQ operation.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • 7-10 years of Logistics, Supply Chain experience required.
  • Dispatch operation experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills required.
  • Proficient PC skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & database management systems
