Intermodal Tracing Coordinator
The primary role of the Intermodal Tracing Coordinator is to provide superior customer service by tracing loads throughout the multitude of interchanges from ramp to ramp, and through to delivery and empty. This position communicates the status of
loads with the Service Coordinators and proactively with customers.

Job Type: Full-time/Hybrid


  • Create the customer tracing report with the current status. Confirm delivery appointment timeliness.
  • Monitor all loads en route by contacting railroads and checking railroads’ websites to ensure timely delivery of loads.
  • Review Rail tracing records as downloaded into the system ensuring updated status.
  • Retrace all loads on the Rail carrier tracing websites that do not show a current record or require further information.
  • Confirm the setting of delivery appointments with Service Coordinator, Destination Drayman or, Consignee.
  • Respond to and investigate loads where the tracking record indicates no movement or the record is not up to date.
  • Track shipment status once it arrives at the final destination ramp. Identify the last free day and storage activity.
  • Communicate any issues and/or unplanned costs associated with in-transit and ramp storage activity to the Service Coordinator.
  • Investigate and resolve transit issues in a timely manner and initiate corrective action. Make sure to notify affected parties.
  • Update Customer’s website on load status.
  • Maintain positive relationships with destination Drayman.
  • Enter Customer’s EDI codes in the system to show load delivery.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in customer service.
  • Transportation industry exposure is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Software (e.g., SAP, AS400) is an asset.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely, internal, and external customer service.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a team environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
