Business Development Executive
Our client is looking for a Business Development Executive to develop new customer relationships for their import logistics product. In this hunter role you will be an integral part of our client’s management team and a key contributor to company success. The Business Development Executive opens and develops relationships with customers while achieving assigned sales and revenue goals. The Business Development Executive is expected to expand the firm’s market share for each customer, to introduce and promote new products and services to customers and to increase our client’s market share.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Hunt and develop new import opportunities with a focus on small and medium-size customers.
  • Penetrate and expand relationships and revenue with select assigned accounts.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of new opportunities to help increase our client’s market share in the territory.
  • Handle the full sales cycle, from prospecting, quoting, and making formal presentations to closing and then maintaining business.
  • Proactively manage customer satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service problems, monitoring satisfaction, and recommending process and delivery improvements.
  • Meet the company monthly targets for sales calls, open opportunities, and closing new business.
  • Solicit our client’s import services including Ocean and Air Import transportation, Cargo Insurance and Customs Brokerage.
Experience:
  • BS preferred; a minimum of two years of college or military service is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding field sales.
  • Experience with logistics processes, systems, and solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and customer relations skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Goal-oriented, self-disciplined, and self-motivated to produce results.
  • Good problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
