Freight Broker

Our client is a licensed property broker as defined by the US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. They provide truckload and LTL brokerage services for both refrigerated and dry loads along with flatbed, hotshot, bulk, and intermodal brokerage services. Freight Broker:
This role is responsible for working with customers to move inventory by matching their freight with empty equipment. The ideal candidate is sales-minded, great at building, maintaining, and growing customer relationships, and continuously growing a portfolio of customers and carriers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage customer and carrier relationships.
• Establish customer business and oversee account management processes.
• Negotiate rates, source carriers and track loads.
• Build relationships with owner-operations to further service business as needed.
• Generate sales leads.
• Remain updated on track load status.

Experience:

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the transportation industry.
• An existing customer base is preferred.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
