Fleet Maintenance Purchasing Manager
Our client is seeking a strategic and dependable Fleet Maintenance Purchasing Manager to lead pricing and procurement efforts related to the Company’s fleet maintenance department. This individual will be accountable for maintaining optimal stock levels, managing relationships with suppliers, executing purchasing activities, and handling forecasting and budgeting to meet departmental needs. The Fleet Maintenance Purchasing Manager will also collaborate with the Maintenance team to support and anticipate their inventory demands.
This role does not have any direct reports or people management responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has related experience from a repair shop or trucking maintenance background, is attentive to detail, manages finances effectively, and desires longevity and career advancement within their next company.

Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Source and purchase necessary parts and supplies.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
- Develop strong vendor relationships to secure reliable service by building rapport and exercising strong communication skills.
- Inventory and Supply Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, guaranteeing essential parts are stocked in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to forecast future inventory needs.
- Cost Management:
- Track and report expenses and usage metrics.
- Monitor budget adherence, and analyze reports to identify areas of opportunity for cost-saving.
Experience:
- Prior experience working in a repair shop or trucking maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of asset transportation and related industry concepts is required.
- Recognition and understanding of parts associated with fleet maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical thinker with a project management background.
- Reliable and collaborative leader.
