Our client is a non-asset based domestic and international transportation broker. They specialize in arranging truckload, less than truckload, drayage, rail, and intermodal shipments throughout their large network of contracted carriers.

Drayage Business Development (Remote)
This position is responsible for developing business from new and existing accounts in a designated sales area. This role will achieve assigned revenues and performance goals, develop new business relationships through high-level account contacts, and must possess a strong ability to close and secure business. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, familiar with major shippers, possess excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, and have a proven ability to successfully close business transactions, achieve sales goals, develop new business, and strengthen existing customer relationships.

Job Type: Full-time/ Work from home

Responsibilities:

  • Generate gross profit from new business sold.
  • Maintain and grow existing business in the greater Texas area.
  • Reach sales call goals each week.
  • Transition on sold business to operations manager and staff.
  • Read and respond to emails on a daily basis to ensure that business in the U.S. and overseas is handled properly.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years’ transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding experience with a proven background managing an outside sales territory, prospecting, and closing sales preferred.
  • Proven sales success required.
  • Well established with customer contacts and new business leads.
  • Experience in selling transportation services.
  • Ability to present potential clients with global logistics concepts including related expediting, packing and transportation services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Team player with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Word Office and related products.
  • Critical, time-sensitive decision-making that impacts contractual agreement.
  • Must be a team player and willing to execute the vision of our client’s management.


This position offers a competitive base salary plus incentive.
