Director of Delivery Operations
The Director of Delivery Operations will be a thought partner with the Chief Operating Officer and other business leaders regarding the implementation and maintenance of a people first delivery function that leverages data to deliver exceptional customer service and efficient operational outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Understands the Company’s business and the specific needs of the company’s departments and retail customers. Translates those needs into an overall delivery strategy, that focuses on safety, customer service, efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Enhances our driving training efforts in partnership with the HSE and Fleet Departments for newly hired and existing Delivery team members that instills the company’s safety focused culture and results in a safer workforce.
  • Leads and develops a team of Sales Service Managers (i.e., Delivery Managers) and their team members to ensure safe and efficient delivery operations and a high level of customer satisfaction to support continued market growth.
  • Establishes a data-driven approach to the delivery and people aspects of the Delivery Operations function, including development of strategically aligned and benchmarked Key Performance Indicators.
  • Oversees the daily Routing function to ensure daily routing tasks are timely completed and the routes to be run are efficient, looking for opportunities to improve efficiency on a daily basis. Leads the effort to re-route the delivery system while evaluating ideal state go-to-market strategy from a routing and fleet, as needed, to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Ensures that Delivery Operations Department is best-in-class, including oversight of:
    • Ensuring a full operating driver staff daily, suitable Route Assistant and/or Helper assignments and on-time route departures.
    • Coordination with HSE and Fleet departments to ensure all drivers comply with Federal, State, Local, Company Laws and Regulations.
    • Review LYTX data and events with HSE department.
  • Fully understands the Company’s operations and financials and manages the budget of the Delivery Operations Department and assists with the maintenance and preparation of the Company’s capital expenditure budget in coordination with the Fleet Department.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least seven (7) years managing delivery/transportation operations within a data driven organization known for operational excellence.
  • Must have flexible schedule to be able to work early mornings, and some evenings, events, weekends, and holidays.
  • Driving record within MVR policy guidelines. - No license revocation, suspension, DUI/DWI, careless or reckless driving.
  • Must handle alcohol and work within T.A.B.C Guidelines.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, foster a team building environment, multi-task and deliver results that exceed expectations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in delivery operations, and ability to drive and implement change in a complex environment. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and RoadNet/OmniTracs is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, influence skills, professionalism, ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of industry safety and Department of Transportation requirements.
