Carrier Sales Associate
The Carrier Sales Associate is responsible for implementing our client's onboarding strategy and accountable for the pre-sales process for gaining cost-effective access to third party networks of fleets and drivers thereby enhancing their ability to provision cost-effective service offerings. This position will assist the RFQ process and development of compliant bids and spot quotes to deliver an open and competitive carrier procurement process. The Carrier Sales Associate will also be responsible for planning, facilitating, and managing various carriers and drivers, and interconnect services implementations from carriers, involving heavy levels of external and internal customer-facing communication. This individual will be the primary liaison in securing and coordinating freight services with carriers and drivers. This individual will also provide procedural and analytical support by preparing vendor data, manipulating data from our client's various systems. Most importantly, provide excellent customer service working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure carrier utilization, sourcing, and on-time delivery in accordance with customer and our client's expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage multiple requests for quotes and acquire competitive pricing from third party carriers and drivers.
  • Project management of open and competitive bid process, including specifying requirements, identification of potential carriers, submitting RFQs, evaluating responses and awarding based on best value procurement practices.
  • Ensure provider solutions maintain interoperability and commercial best practices (e.g, carrier411, and insurance validation).
  • Coordinate freight for carriers, cross-connects and project manages third party carriers and drivers during implementation via telephone and written correspondence.
  • Coordinate connections with both external parties and internal teams. Play a pivotal role in organizing, monitoring, tracking, and implementing requests.
  • Ensure services are delivered correctly, cost effectively and on schedule while facilitating communications between all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication with our client's Sales team, including providing status updates
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
  • Maintain relationships and assist in maintenance of information on vendor accounts, budget compliance, performance tracking and reporting.
  • Review of internal processes for potential improvements.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management as required by the needs of our client's business.

Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in freight brokerage (inland), carrier sourcing, business analysis, sales support or other relevant experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability/willingness to operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards; always conduct self with the greatest degree of professional integrity.
  • Strong knowledge of inland freight environments. Strong background in freight brokerage, FTL, LTL and multi-modal.
  • Effective time management skills and ability/willingness to operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word/Excel).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Business, Logistics, Management or related field.
