Carrier Procurement and Relations Manager
This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role will also be responsible for tracking and tracing loads and ensuring that customer orders are
accurate, compliant to quality standards and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will leverage their relationships and contacts within the industry to support their role.

Responsibilities:
  • Project management and development of RFQ process to implement bids with third party providers to provide an open and competitive procurement process.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with Motor Carriers and Rail Providers
  • Develop and maintain carrier rates within data base.
  • Work with sales and operations to identify needs to drive value and price strategy to provide best solution to the customer based off knowledge of carrier network.
  • Analyze pricing data for contractual and spot business.
  • Serve as a centralized resource to develop, establish, and maintain carrier best practices across the organization.
  • Engage with partner carrier to develop strong relationships and be the point of contact for escalation.
  • Ensure partner carrier compliance to Company policy.
  • Establish carrier scorecards Qualifications Details Specification Explanation of the role specific skills.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
  • Possess Exceptional interpersonal skills to prospect, maintain and grow relationships with carriers.
  • Excellent knowledge of carrier pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent knowledge of transportation and supply chains.
  • Ensure compliance to DOT regulations.
  • Influence the decision maker.
  • Development and accountability of KPI’s.
  • Participate as a leader in TMS Buildout.
    • Creating Distributions Electronically.

    • Creating FTL Build out.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Experience:
  • 3-5+ years of prior carrier sales experience.
  • Domestic 3PL experience (Full Truckload, Dry Van & Flatbed).
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (specifically MS Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Self-motivated and business minded team player.
  • Capacity to take on multiple mandates and prioritize.
  • Resilient and dedicated spirit who thrives under pressure.
  • Ability to be accessible to clients and suppliers outside of standard office hours.
