Their advanced technology allows their shipping customers the ability to completely automate their shipping needs by allowing them to compare rates from a variety of regional and national carriers, book online, and track paperwork – all in one location. They have the unique ability to offer the following services to customers: LTL and FTL shipping, overnight air express, intermodal, ocean FCL and LCL, domestic and international ground/air freight services.

Business Development Executive (Heavy-Haul/Over-Dimensional Freight): 
This role is responsible for selling Over-Dimensional freight solutions. This position will focus on multi-level relationships with customers including: networking with customers, building strong relationships, and obtaining information from various parties to understand internal activities and find selling opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and cold call in a designated sales territory developing new customers.
  • Identify and execute revenue enhancing strategic partnerships.
  • Manage, renew, and up-sell existing clients.
  • Collaborate with sales team to develop expertise and new customers.
  • Prepare client presentations, contract negotiations and provide follow through.  
  • Respond to RFPs with a high degree of detail and in a timely manner.  
  • Organize workflow to divide time effectively between business development and maintaining current relationships.
  • Responsible to achieve growth and margin.
  • Responsible and accountable for respective budget; leads sales budget preparations.
  • Interface with various internal departments to ensure delivery of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a player/coach and bring on new business in addition to leading and developing the support team.

Experience:  

  • Minimum 4+ years of outside business to business sales experience within the logistics/transportation industry.
  • Must have experience selling heavy haul, over-dimensional, open deck, or other specialized trucking freight modes.
  • Must have an established network/book of business.
  • Must have a proven sales track record in business development.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.

This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.
