Manager, Logistics Compliance & Claims

The Position
Job Title: Manager, Logistics Compliance & Claims
Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid
Responsibilities:
Own and continuously improve the company’s transportation compliance and claims program, including policies, SOPs, controls, audits, and corrective actions.
Manage carrier qualification, onboarding, monitoring, and compliance exceptions.
Review carrier authority, safety history, insurance, ownership information, fraud indicators, ELD exemptions, and other risk factors.
Oversee certificates of insurance, policy limits, endorsements, additional-insured requirements, and carrier insurance deficiencies.
Serve as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, underwriters, claims adjusters, third-party administrators, and other risk partners.
Own cargo, LTL, property-damage, theft, shortage, liability, bond, and other transportation claims through resolution, recovery, settlement, or escalation.
Manage complex, high-value, disputed, or sensitive claims and ensure proper investigation and documentation.
Review customer, carrier, broker, vendor, station, NDA, and master service agreements from an operational compliance perspective.
Lead compliance and claims training and develop KPIs around carrier compliance, claims, audits, recoveries, insurance deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Identify process and technology gaps and lead improvements to workflows, SOPs, reporting, automation, data quality, and TMS-related processes.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in transportation, 3PL, freight brokerage, carrier compliance, cargo claims, risk, or a related logistics environment.
At least 1 year of formal supervision, team-lead responsibility, or demonstrated accountability for assigning work, coaching, and reviewing output.
Direct experience managing cargo or LTL claims and carrier qualification, insurance, or regulatory-compliance processes.
Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT requirements, cargo liability principles, the Carmack Amendment, transportation insurance, claims practices, contract administration, records control, and risk escalation.
Experience working with insurance brokers, underwriters, claims adjusters, TPAs, legal advisors, or similar external partners.
Experience using Highway, FMCSA SAFER, or comparable transportation compliance platforms.
TMS experience preferred.
Ideally someone who has built or materially improved a compliance or claims program within a growing 3PL, freight brokerage, carrier, freight forwarder, or logistics organization.
Strong analytical, negotiation, investigation, root-cause, and problem-solving skills.
