Job Title: Director of Transportation
Job Type: Full-time; On-site
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute transportation strategies that improve service, efficiency, and profitability
- Lead inbound and outbound transportation operations, drivers, dispatch, and fleet maintenance
- Oversee transportation budgets, freight spend, fuel usage, and operational costs
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and transportation partners
- Ensure DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and regulatory compliance
- Analyze KPIs and transportation data to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and leadership to support company objectives
- Evaluate new technology and systems to improve transportation performance
Experience:
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management
- Proven success leading large-scale inbound and outbound transportation operations
- Strong experience managing transportation budgets and controlling costs
- Expertise with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation analytics
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
