HR Generalist
Job Type: Full-time; On-site
Responsibilities:
- Ensure HR policies and processes are consistently administered throughout the company.
- Coordinate and facilitate new-hire orientation and maintain accurate and up to date employee personnel files.
- Facilitate any employee relations issues and provides guidance.
- Manage full cycle leave of absence process (FMLA/ CFRA/PDL/WC).
- Work in partnership with management on various employment matters including performance management issues, employee inquiries or complaints, conduct investigations and processes terminations.
- Assist with recurring audits for wage and hour/ meal and rest and collecting any documentation related to it.
- Organize communication to management regarding monthly performance reviews process along with tracking review progress.
- Maintain required documentation, including electronic documentation, supporting affirmative action, leaves of absence, attendance, vacation, and positive performance.
- Conduct open enrollment and administers benefit program for employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all activities and records.
- Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred.
- Multi-site experience is required.
- Must have 12+ months experience as a HR Generalist supporting a high volume of employees.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Wage and Hour knowledge a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, sitting for long periods of time, occasionally walking and standing, climbing ladders/stairs, ok with heights in elevated areas and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc. when stepping into the warehouse.
- Strong experience in employee relations issues.
- Strong knowledge of ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other leave laws.
- Experience in a role where strong attention to detail, being resourceful, working multiple projects and competing demands are the norm.
- Excellent consultative, presentation skills and proven success developing strong, collaborative relationships across multiple departments and levels.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
- Professionalism, with ability to maintain confidential information and a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Work independently, as well as with a team.
- Use judgment to identify the most appropriate solution from several options using prior knowledge and experience since problems or situations are different and require interpretation.
- Responsibilities and objectives are assigned with considerable freedom for decision making using technical or experiential knowledge and company standards. Work may be periodically reviewed according to achievement of predefined goals.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
