McLeod Accountant
Job Type: Full-time; Remote
Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations accurately in McLeod.
- Prepare, review, and post weekly and monthly General Ledger (GL) journal entries.
- Produce standard monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow reports using McLeod.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently to ensure timely reporting.
- Continuously monitor brokerage margins, identifying revenue opportunities, pricing discrepancies, and instances of revenue leakage.
- Partner with leadership to track key freight brokerage financial KPIs (load margins, carrier costs, operational overhead) to drive profitability.
- Run both the strategic direction and tactical execution of the accounting function, providing insights to keep the business financially lean and scalable.
Experience:
- Hands-on proficiency with McLeod Software’s financial and accounting modules is required.
- Proven accounting experience within the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, bank reconciliations, GL maintenance, and financial statement generation.
- Demonstrated capability to dig into transaction data, spot margin trends, and eliminate financial leakage.
- Ability to work independently and manage the accounting function end-to-end with minimal supervision.
