Cross-Border Sales Director

  • Location: Dallas, Texas
  • Type: Direct Hire
  • Job 10966
  • Salary: $100,000 — $150,000
Job Title: Cross-Border Sales Director

Job Type: Full-time; Remote

Responsibilities:
  • Build a cross-border (U.S.–Mexico) book of business from the ground up — prospecting, selling, pricing, and closing new customers, then covering and managing that freight cradle to grave.
  • Design and document the processes for the vertical: customer onboarding, carrier vetting and onboarding, border-crossing workflows, customs coordination, and service standards.
  • Source, qualify, and grow a network of cross-border carriers on both sides of the border, including capacity for specialized freight.
  • Navigate the realities of cross-border logistics — customs brokerage coordination, transloading vs. through-trailer decisions, border crossings, and Mexico-side carrier management — supported by our tools and operations team.
  • Act as the commercial face of the vertical with customers, carriers, and partners, delivering consultative, solutions-based selling.
  • Coordinate with internal operations to ensure execution matches what you sell — on-time performance, visibility, and proactive communication.
  • Track and report on the vertical's key metrics (revenue, margin, volume, service levels) and use them to refine the strategy.
  • Stay agile and adaptable, embracing challenges as Scout Freight scales and innovates across services.

Experience:
  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in logistics, broker sales, or account management, with familiarity in specialized freight services preferred.
  • Cradle-to-grave capability. Experience on both the sales side and the carrier/operations side, with the ability to run a load end to end.
  • Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish): Comfortable working commercially with customers and carriers in both languages.
  • Strong negotiation and sales strategy skills.
  • Heavy haul / specialized freight experience out of Mexico.
  • Familiarity with cross-border programs and infrastructure
  • Experience standing up a new vertical, desk, or branch (preferred).
  • Collaborative team player with adaptability and eagerness to learn.
  • Analytical mindset focused on improving processes and outcomes.
