Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager – Bulk Liquids

Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage potential clients within the logistics industry, including manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
- Leverage strong entrepreneurial skills to proactively uncover new business opportunities and foster a culture of innovation.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive pipeline growth and achieve sales targets.
- Cultivate new and existing leads from within the company and our various international partners.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential business opportunities.
- Deliver sales presentations, lead negotiations, and prepare proposals tailored to client needs, highlighting the value of the company’s services.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure seamless client onboarding and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Stay current on industry developments, market trends, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities.
- Experience: 5–10 years in business development or sales within the international logistics and transportation industry.
- Track record: Proven success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, with a focus on new business acquisition.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex supply chain solutions clearly.
- Interpersonal skills: Strong relationship-builder who can establish trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Strategic thinking: Deep understanding of ocean logistics and the tank container industry, including market dynamics and customer needs.
- Technical proficiency: Experience using CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track pipeline activity.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: Ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities independently.
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Existing network within North American bulk liquid shippers or chemical/petrochemical/logistics sectors.
- Knowledge of US inland intermodal rail and trucking networks for tank containers.
