The Position

Job Title: Human Resources Manager
   
Job Type: On-site

Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations & Risk Management
    • Serve as the primary Human Resources resource for managers and employees across the organization.
    • Review disciplinary matters, assess employee history, ask clarifying questions, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for appropriate corrective action.
    • Ensure disciplinary documentation is properly maintained within Paycom and employee personnel files.
    • Conduct and coordinate employee investigations, including gathering facts, interviewing involved parties, documenting findings, summarizing conclusions, and recommending appropriate actions.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to managers regarding employee relations, performance concerns, and workplace issues.
    • Recommend plans of action to ensure legal compliance and minimize organizational risk.
    • Coordinate responses to employment-related claims, including unemployment claims, hearings, appeals, MCAD complaints, and other agency inquiries in partnership with legal counsel.
  • Performance Management
    • Support managers with employee coaching, counseling, development plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Assist with performance management processes and employee development strategies.
    • Provide guidance on employee documentation and performance-related decisions.
    • Workforce Changes & Organizational Support
    • Coordinate reductions in force (RIFs), layoffs, restructures, and employee separations.
    • Assist with separation agreements and related documentation in partnership with legal counsel.
    • Support acquisitions, divestitures, and entity sales by coordinating confidential employee and benefits data requests.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive employee and organizational matters.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Serve as the primary administrator for all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and voluntary benefits.
    • Manage annual Open Enrollment from planning through execution.
    • Partner with the company’s benefits broker regarding renewals, plan design changes, market evaluations, and vendor recommendations.
    • Review benefit marketing and renewal results and provide recommendations to leadership.
    • Coordinate implementation of new benefit plans, vendors, and employee communications.
    • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, claims issues, plan changes, and benefit-related questions.
    • Reconcile benefit invoices and ensure accurate payroll deductions.
    • Participate in retirement plan and Investment Review Committee meetings as required and understand fiduciary responsibilities associated with employee benefit programs.
    • Oversee wellness initiatives and employee benefit communications.
  • Leave Administration & Compliance
    • Administer FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation coordination, and other leave programs.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
    • Provide guidance to management regarding leave-related risks and compliance requirements.
    • Maintain employee records and oversee HR documentation
    • Monitor changes in labor laws and employment regulations and recommend policy and process updates as needed.
  • HRIS & Paycom Administration
    • Serve as the primary administrator for the company’s Paycom HRIS platform.
    • Maintain employee records, benefits data, workflows, deductions, and system configurations within Paycom.
    • Ensure all employee relations, disciplinary, and performance documentation is accurately maintained within Paycom.
    • Train managers and employees on Paycom Employee Self-Service (ESS) functionality.
    • Troubleshoot Paycom-related issues and coordinate with Paycom support when necessary.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and system integrity.
    • Develop reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics utilizing Paycom reporting tools.
    • Support onboarding, benefits administration, and employee record management through Paycom.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to maximize system utilization and efficiency.
  • Policy Development & Compliance
    • Maintain and update company policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
    • Develop new policies and programs to support organizational objectives and legal compliance.
    • Monitor changing employment laws and recommend necessary updates to company practices.
    • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently administered across all locations.
  • Recruitment & Employee Engagement
    • Support recruiting and onboarding efforts as needed.
    • Partner with recruiting staff and hiring managers to support workforce needs.
    • Coordinate employee recognition and engagement programs, including Driver
    • Appreciation Week, boot reimbursement programs, employee incentive programs, and company-sponsored events.
    • Foster a positive and professional workplace culture throughout the organization.
  • Staff Leadership
    • Provide leadership, direction, and support to HR team members as assigned.
    • Assist in developing efficient HR processes and best practices.
    • Partner with company leadership to support organizational goals and workforce initiatives.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct Paycom administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration.
  • Experience managing Open Enrollment and employee benefit programs.
  • Experience administering FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, and leave programs.
  • Employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Experience handling disciplinary matters and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Preferred SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
  • Preferred experience in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, construction, utility, or other blue-collar industries.
