Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed short‑term production schedules for the Irwindale facility, ensuring alignment with demand, available materials, labor, and capacity constraints
- Partner with plant leadership to build executable schedules that balance throughput, changeovers, labor efficiency, and service priorities
- Analyze raw material demand signals, inventory positions, lead times, and usage patterns to develop accurate purchasing recommendations
- Convert ERP‑generated MRP outputs into actionable buy signals, applying exception management and planner judgment to ensure accuracy
- Monitor open purchase orders and inbound deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time; proactively escalate risks that could impact production
- Maintain and regularly assess raw material planning parameters (safety stock, reorder points, order quantities) to ensure ERP outputs are aligned with demand variability and supply risk
- Partner closely with Procurement to prioritize purchasing actions, resolve material constraints, and monitor supplier performance and lead time changes
- Monitor finished goods inventory levels for make‑to‑stock items and recommend schedule adjustments to mitigate shortages or excess
- Coordinate and execute inter‑facility and external warehouse transfers, including building transfer loads to support inventory positioning and service requirements
- Evaluate inventory health across raw materials and finished goods, identifying aging, excess, or at‑risk inventory and driving corrective actions
- Develop and maintain reporting, including raw material consumption by finished good and customer, to support planning and procurement decisions
- Support new product introductions by partnering with the Production Commercialization team to plan raw material requirements and adjust inventory strategies
- Identify and resolve data or system gaps (BOMs, lead times, usage rates) that impact scheduling or MRP accuracy
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to production scheduling, material planning, and ERP utilization
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in production scheduling, materials planning, MRP, or supply planning roles within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience managing both production schedules and material availability in a dynamic, constraint‑driven environment
- Strong understanding of MRP logic, raw material planning, lead times, and inventory control concepts
- Proven ability to balance service, cost, inventory, and operational constraints in day‑to‑day decision making
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivots, lookups, and data analysis to support planning decisions
- Experience working within ERP systems and translating system outputs into actionable execution plans
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong cross‑functional communication skills, particularly with Production, Procurement, and Customer Service
