The Position

 
Job Title: Carrier Sales Executive
   
Job Type: Full-time; Onsite
 
Responsibilities
  • Drive daily and weekly load count, revenue and margin goals for our client’s company.
  • Strategically match, negotiate, and book carriers with available freight.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers to maximize profits and develop long term solutions.
  • Develop current carrier base for consistent lane specific volumes.
  • Verify all carriers go through the RMIS process to confirm they are qualified to haul for our client’s company.
  • Establish and maintain carrier relationships for future capacity opportunities.
  • Clarify load requirements with carriers, confirming drivers have proper information to pick-up/deliver.
  • Meet departmental and personal profit margin goals.
  • Maintain carrier satisfaction and provide high quality service and work ethic while representing our client’s company.
  • Manage order entry and create orders for customers through systems, phone, and email as needed.
  • Follow customer SOPs during the booking and dispatching process.
  • Ensure all shipments are tracked according to company policy. Quickly and proactively resolve problems that arise while load is in transit.
  • Provide any required reporting to management.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to handling difficult situations and provide timely escalation and/or feedback to direct supervisor regarding service failures, customer complaints, or any other matters requiring attention.
  • Maintain and monitor service levels provided to customers as required.
  • Promote brand awareness within current/existing carrier partners.
  • Follow Accessorial Approval Processes when requesting accessorials.
  • Performs other special projects and task as assigned (Based on business need).

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, logistics, supply chain or related field preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years demonstrated broker experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel and Word). • Working knowledge of McLeod preferred .
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships at all levels of a business (internally and externally).
  • Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • High customer service orientation.
  • Team player with proven ability to excel in a team-based environment.
