Cargo Loss Prevention Analyst
   
Job Type: Full-time; On-site

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and maintain the company’s cargo fraud and loss prevention framework, including policies, procedures and controls across brokerage and the agent network
  • Monitor emerging cargo fraud trends, theft vectors and industry intelligence to identify risk and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Design and deliver fraud prevention training for internal staff and agency owners, meeting agencies at their operational level while upholding the company’s standards
  • Manage vendor relationships third-party carrier compliance and fraud prevention platforms
  • Establish and govern carrier vetting and compliance standards to reduce exposure to fraudulent actors in the company’s network
  • Serve as the internal authority on cargo fraud risk, providing guidance and recommendations to brokerage leadership, agency owners and executive stakeholders
  • Evaluate emerging technologies that can improve the company’s ability to detect and respond to fraud threats
  • Define and track key metrics to measure fraud exposure, prevention effectiveness and compliance
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry peers at other carriers, brokerages and industry organizations to stay current on fraud trends and share intelligence
  • Travel approximately 10–20% to agent sites, company locations and industry conferences

Experience:
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience identifying, investigating and mitigating cargo fraud and loss prevention threats in a transportation or brokerage environment — with specific examples you can speak to in an interview
  • Experience working within or alongside risk or insurance functions in a transportation context, with a working understanding of how fraud exposure translates to financial and reputational risk
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, agency owners, external vendors and industry peers
  • Executive presence — the ability to communicate with confidence and credibility at all levels, including delivering compliance-based decisions to senior leaders and agency owners
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with demonstrated success

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience in a freight brokerage environment with exposure to carrier vetting, compliance processes and fraud prevention programs
  • Active participation in cargo security industry organizations or established relationships with peers at other carriers or brokerages
