The Position 

Job Title: Carrier Capacity Representative (Reefer) 

Job Type: Full-time; On-site 

Responsibilities: 

  • The drive to actively source, negotiate, and grow carrier partnerships that support business growth and align with company financial targets. 
  • A customer-first mindset-working hand-in-hand with sales and operations to deliver best-in-class service. 
  • A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with carrier dispatchers and internal teams. 
  • Accuracy and efficiency in dispatching loads, completing administrative duties, and updating tools like our client’s transportation management system in a timely manner. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills to proactively identify potential issues, create solutions, and escalate when necessary. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to negotiate rates and influence outcomes. 
  • A results-oriented approach, demonstrated through meeting daily targets for quotes, pre-calls, and tenders, as well as driving year-over-year carrier growth.

Experience: 

  • 2-3 years of experience in carrier sales, dispatch, or logistics operations. 
  • Previous experience with reefer freight is a must. 
  • Proactively identify and qualify asset-based carriers to service recurring lanes and project freight. 
  • Strong knowledge of USA trucking and freight markets. 
  • Execute purchasing strategies that improve margin consistency. You aren't just covering loads; you are buying capacity at the right price point to ensure long-term profitability. 
  • Negotiate standing orders and dedicated pricing with carriers, moving relationships from transactional spot-rates to contract rates. 
  • Monitor market indices (DAT, FreightWaves, etc.) to ensure our client’s procurement costs remain competitive. 
  • Ensure carriers you onboard adhere to service requirements for the specific lanes they service (tracking, equipment quality, on-time performance). 
  • Maintain impeccable records in our client’s TMS (Revenova), ensuring carrier profiles, lane preferences, and rate history are accurate and actionable for the broader team. 
  • Act as the primary escalation point for the strategic carriers you manage, solving high-level issues that threaten the relationship.
