Freight Broker - Operations Support
Job Type: Full-time; On-site
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Senior Brokers and the Operations team to coordinate shipments, communicate with carriers and customers, and ensure freight moves smoothly from pickup to delivery.
- Assist Brokers in coordinating and tracking freight shipments.
- Communicate with carriers to confirm availability, rates and load details.
- Update & maintain shipment information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Monitor loads to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
- Provide status updates to the customers and internal teams.
- Help source new carriers and maintain carrier relationships.
- Verify documentation including rate confirmations, BOLs and PODs.
- Support problem resolution related to delays, scheduling issues, or service concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Internship or customer service experience is a plus
- Familiarity with the Transportation and / or Logistics industry is a plus
