Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate freight movement.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and oversee logistics operations.
- Identify client needs and provide tailored solutions to drive customer satisfaction.
- Conduct inside sales efforts to expand the customer base and grow revenue.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to optimize profitability while maintaining quality service.
- Monitor shipment progress, address any issues, and provide timely updates to clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including DOT regulations as applicable.
- Handling different types of freight for dry vans, reefers, flatbeds and air-freight carriers.
- Proven Experience: Prior verifiable brokerage experience of at least 3 years
- Carrier Knowledge: Familiarity with dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, conestogas and other types of equipment
- Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate rates and secure reliable carriers for shipments.
- Industry Expertise: Knowledge of truckload, LTL, and Load-to-Ride rates is a must.
- Relationship Builder: Must have strong carrier relationships, and a customer following is a major plus.
- Team Player: Ability to manage and grow existing business while working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Comfortable working independently and under minimal supervision in a dynamic setting.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with customer relationship management software is a must.
- Customer following is a plus.
- Attention to details is essential. Follow through from Booking to POD.
