Job Type: Full-time; Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development across brokerage services (FTL, LTL, specialized freight)
- Build and manage a personal book of business as a primary revenue generator
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to penetrate target markets
- Leverage existing relationships and industry knowledge to accelerate growth
- Sell value-driven logistics solutions, focusing on long-term partnerships
- Identify and close opportunities within specialized verticals (HazMat, Pharma, etc.)
- Build, hire, and lead a high-performing brokerage team
- Coach and mentor team members on sales strategy, negotiation, and execution
- Establish and track KPIs, metrics, and performance standards
- Foster a results-driven, accountable sales culture
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational excellence and service delivery
- Develop and execute the overall brokerage growth strategy
- Stay ahead of market trends, pricing, and capacity fluctuations
- Implement and improve processes, tools, and systems to support scalability
- Serve as a subject matter expert on brokerage operations and industry trends
- 5–10+ years of experience in freight brokerage / 3PL sales
- Proven track record of building and growing a book of business
- Experience in a leadership or player/coach capacity
- Strong understanding of brokerage operations, pricing, and market dynamics
- Experience within HazMat and/or Pharmaceutical logistics is a plus
- Background in building or scaling a brokerage team or division
- Entrepreneurial, ownership mindset with a drive to build and grow
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to develop and influence others
- Polished communicator with strong negotiation and client-facing skills
- Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strategic thinker who can translate market insights into actionable growth plans
