Director of Expedited Logistics Operations

Job Type: Full-time; On-site

Responsibilities:
  • Directs daily operations across all company service lines, ensuring execution aligns with customer expectations and delivery timelines.
  • Oversees routing, dispatch, tracking, and vendor coordination for time-sensitive and high-touch shipments.
  • Ensures on-time performance for rollouts, trade shows, white glove deliveries, and mission-critical cargo.
  • Monitors operational efficiency and cost control to maximize revenue and protect profit margins.
  • Develops and drives operational strategies that promote scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and reporting structures to monitor performance and drive accountability.
  • Leads technology integrations and process automation initiatives to enhance visibility and productivity.
  • Supports customer growth by strengthening existing relationships and expanding the base of trusted, repeat clients.
  • Builds and maintains a high-performing team across multiple shifts and service verticals.
  • Oversees the training and development of internal personnel and
    independent logistics agents.
  • Designs standard operating procedures and success metrics for team consistency and performance growth.
  • Serves as the final escalation point for complex service issues and critical customer concerns.
  • Ensures rapid resolution of delays, damages, or service failures with minimal impact to the customer.
  • Implements a culture of service excellence, with proactive
    communication and attention to detail.
  • Establishes and maintains a scalable department structure aligned with operational goals.
  • Ensures full compliance with TSA, DOT, IATA (as applicable), and
    company-specific safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversees documentation, billing accuracy, and audit preparedness
    across service lines.
  • Manages relationships with exclusive-use vehicle providers, white glove partners, and air freight carriers.
  • Oversees rate negotiations, vendor onboarding, and ongoing
    performance tracking.
  • Maintains up-to-date Carrier Report Cards and ensures service level agreements are met.
  • Negotiate better rates with partners.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • 7–10 years of experience in Logistics Operations with a focus on time-sensitive, specialized services
  • Expertise in Expedited, Exclusive Use, and White Glove transportation
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (TSA, DOT, IATA)
  • Proven leadership in team building, departmental structuring, and service delivery
  • Proficiency with logistics systems, CRM/TMS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
