The Position:
Job Title: Cradle to Grave Freight Broker
Job Description: Our client is looking for a Cradle to Grave Freight Broker to join their expanding team.
Job Type: Full-time/Work from home
Responsibilities:
Research prospects on both the produce side of the business, as well as the freight side, and contact them to generate sales for the company.
The candidate will be responsible for growing a book of business, developing weekly load volume with customers, and procuring carriers to deliver those loads alongside our client’s carrier procurement team.
Manage the process end to end from procuring the load, procuring the truck handling the price negotiations, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of all administrative paperwork.
Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure on-time delivery and support handling any difficulties that could arise.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience as a Transportation Broker in
produce and dry freight.
Experience and industry relationships with produce growers and/or trucking companies.
Understands the mechanics and technical aspects of brokering.
Strong understanding of contractual rules and regulations in the produce and freight transportation sectors.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Excellent sales skills are required.
