Director of Sales and Account Management
Job Type: Full-time; Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Drive growth through expanded service adoption and deeper multi-level engagement within key accounts.
- Exceed annual sales and margin goals at both personal and team levels.
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales team focused on strategic account expansion and solution conversion.
- Ensure successful onboarding, growth, and retention of new services within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with Marketing to refine outreach strategy, messaging, and collateral to support key account growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and business development forums.
- Communicate our clients value proposition clearly and consistently to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate sales activity documentation in the companys CRM system.
- Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to achieve performance goals and professional growth.
- Identify skill gaps and implement development plans to improve team effectiveness.
- Review and analyze performance metrics, implementing action plans as needed.
- Ensure regular communication of company strategy, team goals, and performance metrics.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to align strategic and resource planning with customer and business needs.
- Use data and analytics to identify service gaps and implement improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and financial performance.
- Champion the adoption of tools and technologies that support sales effectiveness and customer success.
- Develop annual budgets that support aggressive yet achievable growth targets across key segments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field required; a graduate degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 8+ years of experience developing and closing complex key account relationships, with a proven record of success.
- 5+ years of direct people management experience preferred.
- Experience in operational environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Strong ability to build strategic relationships and secure new business.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to manage conflict and influence stakeholders. Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Creative, strategic thinker with a growth mindset.
- Adept at negotiating and collaborating across internal and external teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of each month.
- Fluent in English (bilingual proficiency is a plus).
