Position Summary

The Technical Systems Analyst (RDS / PCS) is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, supporting, and optimizing transportation and warehouse technology platforms, with a primary focus on Descartes Bearware (RDS / Retail Scan), PCS Trac, and Dispatch Science (TMS).

This role bridges operations, integrations, and engineering by combining system expertise, data analysis, and custom technical solutions to support scalable logistics operations.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working directly with data and code, and able to translate operational needs into stable, well documented technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and own comprehensive technical documentation, including:
    • System configurations and platform settings
    • Integration specifications and data flows
    • Process diagrams and operational workflows
    • User guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure documentation remains accurate, current, and usable for both technical and operational teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Compliance, Customers, Vendors) to:
    • Gather and refine technical and operational requirements
    • Design and implement system enhancements and integrations
    • Configure, test, and deploy solutions across RDS, PCS Trac, and Dispatch Science
  • Support and enhance integrations between TMS, WMS, scanning platforms, APIs, and third-party systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for:
    • Descartes Bearware (Retail Scan)
    • PCS Trac
  • Perform ongoing system monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements across
  • platforms.
  • Analyze system logs, database records, scan data, and operational outputs to:
    • Diagnose system issues and data inconsistencies
    • Identify inefficiencies in workflows and integrations
    • Recommend and implement data-driven improvements
  • Partner with internal teams to improve reporting accuracy, scan reliability, and operational visibility.
  • Develop and maintain custom technical solutions using C#, including: Scripts, services, or automation supporting rating, scanning, order updates, and integrations
  • Write and maintain SQL queries for reporting, validation, troubleshooting, and system support.
  • Support proper database usage, data integrity, and performance best practices.
  • Provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 technical support for RDS, PCS, and TMS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving data, integrations, and system behavior.
  • Deliver targeted technical training and guidance to operations, warehouse, and logistics teams.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for internal teams and vendors.

Experience:

  • Experience administering or supporting a TMS, CRM, or similar enterprise system.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated experience maintaining accurate data and records.
  • Proven ability to manage system configurations and customer-specific setups.
  • Experience handling support tickets, requests, or system issues in a structured environment.
  • Ability to perform audits, identify inconsistencies, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation and stakeholder updates.
