Senior Manager, Procurement

Job Type: Full-time; On-site

Responsibilities:
  • Manage procurement team members and processes for the entire company portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain a procurement process for the company’s seed supply to ensure the continuous supply of high-quality seeds.
  • Guide our client’s dedicated procurement team in the identification and evaluation of potential seed and component suppliers, including national and international sources.
  • Develop and implement a process to ensure the company’s seed parental lines are safeguarded.
  • Oversee all procurement processes with a focus on timely procurement and delivery of all materials to meet the company’s strategy and production requirements.
  • Enhance and oversee a vendor evaluation process, ensuring optimal quality and cost.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all suppliers across the entire portfolio.
  • Assess market trends and identify supply chain risks, and develop strategic plans to mitigate supply risks.
  • Partner with Finance in the development of annual purchasing budgets.
  • Develop and manage cost analyses and Procurement KPIs with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Direct daily purchasing operations to improve responsiveness and
    efficiency.
  • Assess and forecast purchasing needs in collaboration with key
    stakeholders.
  • Effectively resolve complex procurement and vendor issues.

Experience:
  • Proven track record in negotiating complex, high-value contracts with suppliers and vendors, including long-term agreements and service contracts, and managing the entire contract process from negotiation to execution.
  • Extensive experience managing complex domestic and international purchasing.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a procurement team, setting performance goals, and driving results.
  • Ability to prepare cost-benefit analyses, forecast purchasing needs, and manage procurement budgets effectively.
  • Experience with vendor performance management.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience traveling domestically and internationally, up to 15%.
