Sales Support Specialist (Inside Sales)

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day customer inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding shipment status, documentation, and delays.
  • Assist in preparing rate quotes, pricing proposals, and spot rate requests.
  • Coordinate with internal pricing teams and overseas offices to gather accurate and timely information.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of client shipments, quotes, and communication in CRM (e.g., CargoWise).
  • Ensure timely entry and updates of sales activities, pipeline tracking, and account details.
  • Liaise with operations, customs, and overseas teams to ensure alignment on service execution and client requirements.
  • Support onboarding of new customers by coordinating documentation and setting internal expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve service issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Escalate complex issues while providing timely updates and proposed solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare client-facing materials, presentations, and reports for sales
    meetings and customer reviews.
  • Monitor KPIs, customer volume trends, and service issues to help identify upsell or risk opportunities.
  • Conduct background research on target prospects, industry trends,
    and competitor activity to support sales strategy.
  • Assist in building prospect lists and tracking outreach efforts.
  • Track follow-ups and open action items across accounts to ensure no opportunities fall through the cracks.
  • Help maintain consistent client touchpoints and track key milestones or deadlines.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred (Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related).
  • 1-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain support roles.
  • Prior experience in a customer service or sales support capacity is highly preferred.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both internal and external clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues when needed.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple team members and collaborating across departments and time zones.
  • Prioritizes client satisfaction and delivers timely responses and solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with logistics platforms like Cargowise.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
