Sales Manager (OEM & Strategic Accounts)
The Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding our client’s sales revenue and profit by cultivating new and existing business opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Manages commercial requirements for sales programs, from prototype development to production.
  • Contacts customers to determine product needs, promotes products and increases business for assigned accounts.
  • Manages and reviews requests for quotes (RFQ), pricing, and marketing.
  • Develops quotes and negotiates sales contracts and vendor/supplier agreements.
  • Manages commercial requirements of program/product launches.
  • Coordinates with R&D and engineering about technical requirements and issues.
  • Serves as liaison between customer and vendors/suppliers/factories throughout product lifecycle for issues related to pricing, quality, design, costs, and delivery.
  • Reports on customer contacts, market trends, and business development opportunities.
  • Uses personal judgment and initiative to develop solutions to issues re: sales, customer service, and marketing.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of sales assistants, sales engineers, and/or outside sales reps.
  • Networks within industry, customer base, suppliers, and partner companies.
  • Analyzes sales forecasts and overall market trends.
  • Budgets and provides forecasts to management.
  • Approves sales and order forms.
  • Reports to management re: sales activity, forecast accuracy, and achievement of budget.
  • Reviews purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Serves as an escalation point for issues related to outstanding customer balances.
  • Oversees account management activities of sales assistants, sales engineers, and inside sales representatives.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates meetings with customers and suppliers.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering-related field from a 4-year college or university is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales/management experience in related industry is required.
  • Engineering background (preferred) and/or experience promoting solutions to customer’s technical and commercial teams.
  • Experience with business concepts, including margin, currency exchange, depreciation, and cash flow is preferred.
  • Experience with trading functions, including invoicing, shipping, import duties, and inventory is preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products, including marketing strategy and analysis, resource allocation, product demonstration, and sales and negotiation techniques.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; cross-cultural communication experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material specifications and product drawings.
  • Ability to identify and adapt to customer issues and market trends, developing solutions and strategies.
  • Ability to simultaneously balance multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
