Sales Executive – Cradle to Grave

Job Type: Full-time; Remote

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for mining, sourcing leads, contacting customers, initiating dialogue with these parties that creates the ability to sell them the company’s freight services, and then arrange for the transportation of their freight, and fully satisfy their requirements.
  • Ability to acquire from customers and disseminate to drivers, full and complete instructions and requirements relative to a given shipment.
  • Assures clear communication related to the dispatch function providing continuous, uninterrupted, driver/customer service.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring that our client delivers customers’ freight on time, and that customer complaints are handled.
  • Strives to ensure all commitments to the customer.
  • Positively participates in a positive and pleasant work atmosphere.
  • Safety is paramount never ever request a carrier or driver to perform in any illegal manner that could clearly cause harm to themselves or anyone else.
  • Accepts all loads on a break-even basis and is aware that profitability is paramount on accepted freight.
  • Ability to quote rates, discuss the company’s services, advantages of choosing our client to fulfill their transportation needs.
  • Is fully aware of and agrees to comply with applicable safety, health, environmental, and safety laws.
  • Is available to assist other team members as needed.
Experience:
  • A high school education or G.E.D. is required unless promotion to this position is from within. Some additional schooling, adult education, or industry training is preferred.
  • This position requires 2+ years of experience in the transportation brokerage/logistics business and trucking operations. One or more of those years should be in dispatch. Experience with the LTL business would be very beneficial.
  • Has had freight/ logistics sales or customer service experience of 1 to 2 years.
  • Has had training or experience in problem-solving techniques.
  • Has had some Team Base freight broker operations training or has functioned in a Team environment as a team leader or member.
  • Ability to concentrate and work on multiple projects and problems over long periods of time.
  • PC Computer skills, experience with transportation dispatch software, Microsoft Office 365, including Microsoft Outlook.
  • Although much of the software is web-based, it is imperative that the person has working knowledge of the Internet, and web-based functions.
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills.
  • Patience, the ability to listen, digest, and respond to the problems of others (employees and customers) all in a calm and professional manner.
  • Assist and motivate other team members to meet company goals.
