Sales & Account Manager - Freight

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid

Responsibilities:
  • Function as the transportation sales primary point of contact.
  • Prospect, identify, and close new business opportunities in FTL, LTL, and Drayage within existing and new accounts.
  • Educate customers on the full suite of transportation services offered.
  • Gain market share in key assigned accounts by proactively upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identify drayage opportunities across all ports, rail ramps, and distribution hubs.
  • Provide guidance on load capacity, equipment, and rate strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers.
  • Develop solutions based on customers’ shipping needs and current market trends.
  • Prepare and deliver captivating sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate pricing, rates, and service contracts with customers to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Partner closely with internal teams to propose and implement value-added solutions that align with customer requirements.
  • Support and participate in RFP processes and bid completion.
  • Actively support customers’ onboarding and assist in resolving service issues.
  • Consistently meet or exceed company sales goals.
  • Travel to customers’ locations to complete sales meetings and directly work on sales-related activities.
  • Assist in the development of customer SOPs required to effectively
    manage each customer’s business.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities.
  • Maintain detailed activity tracking, sales pipeline management, and
    forecasting using CRM tools.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of transportation/logistics sales experience, with an emphasis on FTL, LTL, and Drayage services.
  • Proven success in developing and closing new business in a transportation 3PL or brokerage sales environment.
  • Demonstrated success working in a remote or independent sales environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.
  • Proven experience in sales and business development in the transportation and brokerage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of FTL, LTL, and Drayage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Up to 50% of travel could be necessary to meet with clients.
  • Warehouse/ 3PL/ Logistics experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not needed.
