Project Logistics Manager 

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid 

Responsibilities:
  •  Lead and support logistics operations related to all major and minor projects as well as spot load activity.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for project logistics costing, budget, scheduling, planning and risk management.
  • Lead and support the process and strategy relative to customer RFQ’s and manage responses in accordance with customer requests.
  • Lead and support the development of RFP’s or RFQ’s to TLGA supply base in support of new bid projects, analysis/ evaluation of responses and lead the negotiation process.
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate transportation methods and partner selection.
  • Develop route plans by mode.
  • Develop and manage relationships with partners: Ocean Carriers, Crane & Rigging, Heavy Haul, Barge Operators, Rail Providers.
  • Lead and monitor supplier management & performance, including score carding as applicable
  • Lead and support the development of project schedules and produce full project planning, logistics plans, presentations, etc.
  • Travel in support of assigned work tasks.  Visit sites, ports, suppliers as needed to perform duties of meetings, surveys, etc. in preparation for project work.
  • Book project & spot shipments for all modes of transport, ensuring all transactions are covered in accordance with company Quality Policy & Work Instructions, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review supplier Purchase Orders for completeness, while maintaining quality policy and procedure.
  • Ensure contractors’ insurance reviews are up-to-date and in compliance with Purchasing policy and procedures.
  • Maintain related cargo track & trace reports, and report out as required.  
  • Contribute to new supply strategies that support customer requirements and/or expectations.
  • Maintain shipping data and work towards continuous improvement initiatives with related analysis of data.  Monitor, analyze and communicate trends to Project Management team.
  • Initiate individual P&L accounting summary per shipment or project meeting preset reasonable goal.  
  • Record lessons learned, as applicable, through project management and shipment management.  
  • Lead discussions related to lessons learned and ensure that historical incidents are applied to new/current projects.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ transportation administration and operations experience with direct experience preferred in heavy haul, barge, rail and/or crane & rigging industry
  • Strong analytical background
  • Must be able to work on multiple tasks with little direct supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to travel as required by the project, travel is typically short in duration
  • Significant knowledge of Heavy Haul, over dimensional rail, Barge and Port Operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure documents.
  • Ability to present information to colleagues, clients, and partners  
  • Computer literate, experienced with MS Office software
  • Have or able to qualify to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) and Federal Background Check
  • 4 year College Degree preferred
