Our client sets the on-time delivery standard for trucking fresh fish and seafood for wholesalers, fisheries, and suppliers. This company is the leader in refrigerated, less-than-truckload freight transportation. They expedite, consolidate, and ship highly perishable, refrigerated products and time-sensitive shipments throughout Florida and the northern states. As a refrigerated freight hauler, they specialize in transporting fresh foods fish, and seafood. Their team picks up freight from the point of origin from either customer or supplier locations, or consolidated shippers. From there, they deliver the freight to their cross-dock warehouses in Fort Pierce, Florida, or to their strategic partners. The product is then unloaded into warehouses and consolidated onto refrigerated trailers for delivery to its final destination.

Night Shift Captain (Logistics & Cross-Dock Operations)

Job Type: Full-time; Onsite

Responsibilities:
  • Manage operations of the refrigerated logistics facility.
  • Oversee cross-docking, warehousing, and LTL services.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and quality control.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing operational team.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Address and resolve operational challenges and customer service issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven Logistics & Cross-Dock operations experience and/or a similar managerial role in refrigerated logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-docking and LTL services.
  • Prior experience working within the Fresh Fish Industry.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
