Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and hold Business Development Representatives (BDRs) accountable to pipeline, activity, and revenue targets. Foster a high-performance culture focused on effort, results, and continuous improvement.
- Actively sell alongside the team by prospecting, building relationships, and closing new business, while setting the standard for sales excellence.
- Oversee and optimize the team’s sales pipeline across all industry verticals. Ensure opportunities are qualified, progressed, and executed with discipline across the full sales cycle—from lead generation to contract execution.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that align with our client’s growth goals, including targeting key verticals, optimizing RFP processes, and driving margin expansion.
- Manage both new business development and expansion of existing accounts, ensuring strong customer relationships and sustained revenue growth.
- Partner with Carrier Services, Operations, and Leadership teams to design pricing strategies, execute customer onboarding, and deliver exceptional service.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to develop sales skills,
industry knowledge, and strategic thinking within the team. - Ensure accurate use of Salesforce and sales technology tools to track activity, manage opportunities, and drive data-driven decision making.
- Stay current on industry trends, customer needs, and multi-modal transportation solutions (truckload, LTL, intermodal, drayage, etc.) to position our client as a trusted partner.
- Represent the company in client meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities to build trust, strengthen relationships, and win new business.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 5+ years of sales experience (inside or outside), with a track record of success in logistics or supply chain required
- A minimum of 2 years of management or leadership experience is preferred
- Strong negotiation skills
- Hands-on approach to business – act as a player/coach
- Excellent communication skills – cross-departmental collaboration with department leaders
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
