Maintenance Terminal Director

Job Type: Full-time; On-site

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
  • Establish and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective practices without compromising quality.
  • Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including DOT regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers, negotiating contracts and overseeing service quality.
  • Evaluate and select vendors for parts, repairs, and maintenance services.
  • Analyze maintenance metrics and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, fleet performance, and budget status to senior management.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, or a related field required; relevant certifications (e.g., ASE) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and industry regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
