Our client is a new freight brokerage in southeastern Wisconsin. The management team has a long history in the trucking industry and has many relationships with customers and carriers in the Midwest region. Their goal is to become a reputable business that the industry can depend on.

Logistics Sales Executive

Job Type: Full-time; Remote

Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential customers and shippers, grow the book of business by proactive selling through calling, traveling, internet research, etc.
  • Visit with customers/potential customers to strengthen relationships and acquire business.
  • Build carrier relationships in regions where customers require freight hauled.
  • Negotiate with customers and carriers.
  • Continually evaluate the freight market to understand current rates.
  • Communicate with customers regularly.
  • Develop an understanding of where the company has marginal gains/losses: customers, carriers, regions, freight types, etc.
  • Meet with management to provide updates on progress, status of the brokerage, and ideas/projects for future development.
  • Become a leader: In order to give customers the best service possible, a successful individual in this role will build a team around them.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in freight brokering/freight sales (required); 7-10 years (preferred).
  • Transferable book of business (preferred).
  • Must have strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Must be highly motivated and proactive in all aspects of the role.
