Logistics Customer Sales Manager
Job Type: Full-time; On-site
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of 8–10 AEs and SDRs within a high-velocity freight brokerage environment
- Lead by example with hands-on selling, directly managing key accounts and maintaining a personal sales quota.
- Set clear, measurable objectives for individual and team performance; monitor results and deliver actionable feedback.
- Develop innovative sales strategies and execute targeted campaigns to acquire and expand key customer accounts.
- Drive accountability and motivation through regular coaching sessions, team meetings, side-by-side call reviews, and mentorship.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on forecasting, territory planning, pipeline management, and budget development.
- Utilize CRM/TMS platforms to monitor activities, analyze data, and refine team processes for greater efficiency.
- Establish and track relevant KPIs such as pipeline velocity, win rates, and revenue-per-rep to ensure goal achievement.
- Intervene and resolve escalated client issues and help team members close complex deals.
- Lead performance reviews, succession planning, and ongoing professional development for sales staff.
- Foster a culture of high ethical standards, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years’ proven sales experience in third-party logistics (3PL) or freight brokerage, with at least 2 years in a direct leadership role.
- Demonstrated success building, supporting, and developing inside sales or brokerage teams to achieve aggressive quotas.
- Strong background in lead generation, B2B pipeline management, and consultative or solution-based sales.
- Advanced proficiency with CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and transportation software (TMS).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills are needed.
- Excellent communication abilities are needed; verbal, written, and interdepartmental.
- Customer-obsessed, goal-driven, and adaptable to a dynamic, evolving business environment is necessary.
