Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with individuals and cross-functional teams to review and clarify process needs, remove obstacles, and enhance overall value delivery and efficiency.
- Performs time studies, data collection & analysis, frequency studies, facility travel map updates and creates reports based on final analysis and findings.
- Samples data and supports systems configuration maintenance to validate reporting accuracy of key software (e.g. WMS, LMS, Safety Systems, etc.)
- Performs analytical evaluations of operational activities using various systems, such as Warehouse Management System, Labor Management system, Transportation systems, telematics, routing applications, and other Business Technology systems.
- Work with the Holman Sales team to design solutions to meet customer needs including building layouts, racking configurations, material handling requirements, process documents, and other items needed to successfully secure the project.
- Creates engineering documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, Prescribed Work Methods, Work Instructions, Process Flow Maps, and Warehouse Travel Maps.
- Supports development and training in engineered labor standards, industrial engineering and work measurement concepts and tools.
- Supports Field Operations and Supply Chain Corporate team in engineering related areas such as work methods, ergonomics, process improvement, production thru-put, equipment downtime, and safety of the operator.
- Supports the benchmarking of labor standards and productivity, as well as provide timely reporting of operational efficiencies.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and visual aids (charts, process maps, dashboards) to communicate findings and progress.
- Collect data to track and report various key performance indicators
(KPIs). - Perform research to quantify cost-effective and impactful solutions—services, tools, and equipment—that drive efficiency gains.
- Support the communication and implementation of engineering practices and other quality improvement methodologies across the organization.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across various
locations, departments, clients, and teams. - Accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested.
- Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
- Educational training/degree in Industrial Engineering or similar work experience.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the fields of warehousing, logistics, and/or manufacturing.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with diligence and accuracy.
- Initiative-taker, strong bias for action in a high ambiguity environment.
- Enthusiastic collaborator with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Experience with process evaluation and mapping tools, including Value Stream, Fishbone, Swimlane, Flowchart, and SIPOC Diagrams.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement principles and tools (certification is a plus).
- Experience with Continuous Improvement principles and tools.
- Experience in project management and use of relative tools like MS Project, Smartsheet, Trello, etc.
- CAD systems proficiency is advantageous.
