Driver & Owner-Operator Recruiter

The Position
Job Title: Driver & Owner-Operator Recruiter
Job Type: Full-time; On-site
Responsibilities:
- Source and recruit qualified Class A CDL company drivers and owner-operators through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and industry platforms.
- Conduct phone and virtual interviews to evaluate driver qualifications, experience, safety record, and eligibility.
- Clearly communicate job details, compensation, routes, equipment, and company policies to candidates.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified driver candidates.
- Recruit independent owner-operators interested in leasing on with the company.
- Explain contract terms, pay structure, insurance requirements, and operational expectations.
- Build relationships with owner-operators and assist with onboarding documentation.
- Guide candidate through the full recruitment process including pre-screening, application completion, background checks, drug testing coordination, and orientation scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company hiring standards.
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is needed
- 1+ years of Driver recruiting experience is needed
- Strong phone communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple candidates and follow up consistently
- Comfortable working with recruiting targets and performance metrics
- Experience recruiting Class A CDL drivers
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, driver qualification requirements, and trucking operations
- Experience recruiting owner-operators
- Familiarity with transportation recruiting platforms (Tenstreet, TruckersReport, Indeed, etc.)
- Strong sales and persuasion skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to build trust quickly with drivers
- Self-motivated and results-driven
- High sense of urgency
Location: Portland, OR
