Director of Operations
This position will oversee and optimize all aspects of our client’s freight forwarding operations This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in NVOCC operations, capable of driving and managing an operation team of over 10 person and a warehouse location.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations, including import/export processes, air/ocean freight, and consolidation services.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain NVOCC and OTI licensing.
  • Lead and mentor the operations team.
  • Analyze workflows and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Monitor budgets and identify opportunities for cost control.
  • Leverage logistics software to streamline operations and provide transparency.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics, NVOCC operations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams and overseeing operations.
  • Proficient in industry-specific software (Magaya experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge on air freight and TSA regulation is helpful. Eventually, some CBP knowledge is appreciated but not a must.
  • Strong organizational and process optimization skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of Caribbean and international shipping operations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
