Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Grow and manage current operations with the SDDC, DOD, DLA, and FEMA.
- Identify, develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Coordinate with other divisions / departments of the organization.
- Utilize a TMS to network and allocate resources to efficiently move government freight for the Company.
- Source Carriers to uncover the most efficient shipping route / mode.
- Negotiate rates & shipping costs
- Track the location of the freight from pickup to delivery.
- Build out a team of individuals focused on Government business.
Experience:
- 3-5+ years of prior Government Contract experience.
- Prior experience & success responding to both rate-based & spot bids.
- Experience working with various modes of transportation (i.e. truckload, LTL, intermodal, produce, temperature controlled, etc.)
- Verifiable growth track record.
- Pricing and margin integrity achieved through effective negotiation skills including experience writing & responding to RFPs / RFQs.
- Previous experience creating a carrier following and managing KPIs (i.e. customer development, profitability, market penetration).
- Technologically Savvy
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
