Responsibilities:
- Inspect and audit the daily operations of OTR and local dispatchers.
- Audit maintenance procedures and repair schedules.
- Analyze the purchasing of parts to ensure we are getting the absolute best price on every part ordered.
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations (IE, reduce empty miles).
- Analyze fleet performance and generate reports for senior management.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts for fleet purchases and services
- Oversee driver training and development programs to improve skills and ensure safety
- Assist senior leadership in performing trend analysis to identify recurring problems.
- Assist in providing Dispatchers with resources required to achieve goals.
- Maintain accountabilities for all assigned personnel.
- Ensure that the department has sufficient training programs for new and existing employees.
- Ensure adequate cross-training between related departments.
- Oversee quality improvement activities.
- Provide Fleet management assistance to LAX facility.
- Lead in implementation of new company and departmental initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Work with the Safety Department to ensure best practices are being utilized.
- 5-7 years in asset-based truckload leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with a fleet size of at least 20.
- Need someone hands-on as a leader.
- Must bring experience with dispatch technologies and big-picture carrier safety requirements.
