Job Type: Full-time; Onsite

Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership in the development for continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization. Streamline the company’s budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies, and regulatory action.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation, and reporting to the Company.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate accounting technology to
    improve overall tracking and processing of the department.
  • Create comprehensive accounting SOPs to ensure alignment within
    the department.
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, departmental monitoring, and reporting standards on a biweekly, monthly, and annual basis in coordination with the CEO and President.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of
    company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Work directly with the bank on compliance including financial audits, ACH/Wire procedures, check payments, Nacha audits, bank file exchanges, bank account reconciliations, etc.
  • Escalate financial, legal, partnership, and budget issues to the President and/or CEO as required.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and mentor those with less
    experience the Accounting staff. Oversee and support accounting  team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and
    productivity.
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as they occur.
  • Enter all work as activities or service tickets into ConnectWise.
  • Review relevant publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting, is required.
  • 5-10 years of business management experience is required.
  • Desired experience– knowledge of Traverse, transportation industry
  • Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) processes and concepts.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Skill in strategic planning, with an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-3 year time span.
  • Skill in planning and preparing written communications.
  • Skill in leading people and getting results with a strong customer
    orientation.
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting technology.
