between the US, Canada and Mexico. Headquartered in Winter Haven, Florida and recognized nationwide as an industry leader, our client boasts a fleet consisting of over 600 tractors & 1,200 trailers.

CFO - Logistics Industry
Our client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join
their executive team. The CFO will be responsible for driving financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, supporting M&A initiatives, and guiding long-term growth for our client’s $120M+ transportation company. This is a key leadership role, partnering directly with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the company's future.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with our client’s business objectives and growth plans, including acquisitions of 1-2 tanker companies.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive financial performance, capital investments, and long-term value creation.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to guide company-wide operational and strategic decisions.
  • Oversee accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and audit functions with a deep understanding of an asset-intensive operation.
  • Manage capital expenditures and optimize financing strategies for a growing fleet (455 trucks, 900 trailers) and expanding terminal network.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management, warranty recovery processes, and insurance risk management for fleet assets.
  • Lead financial due diligence, modeling, and integration efforts for potential acquisitions.
  • Support the transition to a network-based terminal model across 8+ locations.
  • Develop frameworks for financial scalability as the company continues to expand its footprint.
  • Oversee financial system management and integration, including the TMS (AS400 integrated with FleetOps).
  • Champion the use of technology and data analytics to drive operational efficiencies and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory standards.
  • Lead internal audit processes, manage external audit relationships, and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, including state and federal transportation tax regulations.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote cross-functional partnership across operations, sales, maintenance, and terminal leadership teams.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years as a senior finance executive (preferably CFO or VP of Finance) in transportation, logistics, or an asset-heavy industry.
  • Experience supporting operational and organic growth, as well as M&A activity.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), preferably AS400-based systems, and familiarity with fleet management KPIs.
  • Proven success managing financials for multi-location operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Winter Haven, Florida with regular engagement across terminal locations nationwide.
