Responsibilities:
- Carrier Procurement & Negotiation
- Build and maintain a strong network of reliable carriers across multiple transportation modes.
- Negotiate competitive rates while establishing long-term carrier partnerships.
- Manage the carrier onboarding process and ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.
- Carrier Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with existing carriers to continuously improve service levels.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for carriers, addressing concerns and resolving service-related issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenges related to freight delivery, damages, delays, and service failures.
- Sales Support & Coordination
- Partner with the sales team t understand customer needs and provide cost-effective, reliable carrier solutions.
- Cllaborate with operations to ensure successful shipment execution and optimized load planning.
- Mnitor market trends and carrier capacity to proactively recommend the best transportation options.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track carrier perfrmance metrics including on-time delivery, claims, and service quality.
- Prepare reprts for leadership on carrier performance, cost savings, and shipment efficiency.
- Mnitor carrier rates and service levels to ensure competitive pricing and value.
- Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution
- Address perational issues such as missed pickups or transit delays and take immediate corrective action.
- Wrk with carriers to ensure proper claims processes are followed when service issues arise.
- Market Intelligence
- Stay infrmed on industry trends, carrier capabilities, and regulatory changes.
- Identify new carrier pportunities to expand capacity and support business growth.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Proven ability to negotiate rates and build strong relationships with carriers across multiple modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal, etc.).
- Strong understanding of freight market dynamics, capacity trends, and transportation pricing.
- Experience working within a TMS or load board platforms such as DAT, Truckstop, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
